Here’s a little more of what I’ve been getting up to (and a teeny tiny bit of doodling).
I am sitting by an old log-burning stove, buzzing with two-and-half pints of the local brew, and sipping on the best garlic soup (Czech speciality!) I have ever tasted. This morning I was in Prague, queuing down the escalator with a thousand other people. Now I am in Moravia and sitting in a little wooden Penzion and keeping warm as the drizzle sets in outside. The Penzion is one of a collection of buildings in a museum village called Betlem in a little town called Hilnsko, about two-and-a-half hours South-East of Prague. It is wonderfully quiet here; except for the tin rattle of the stove and the local radio (One Direction, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran mashups all evening!) the only other sound is the gentle babble of conversation from my friends and I and the few other people taking shelter for the evening.
